Zen Photography

Photography can be a Zen art much like Ikebana, haiku or sumi-e.  It is about being present to the material in front of you. Receiving it and working with its quintessential characteristics. All are minimalist attempts to render the ineffable, the transitory, the imperfect. On Thursday, October 20, 2021 at 1:30 I invite you to join me in the Mirella Cimato Gallery in the St. Petersburg Opera to explore my visual and verbal haiku.

Vestigia Dei

Thanks to all who came to the second Saturday artist reception last night. It was a lovely evening. My photographs seemed to glow a bit more after hearing the wonderful Gallery Songs recital! The arts in communication - one with another - offer a wonderful experience.

There is still time to see the show in the Mirella Cimato Gallery at the St Petersburg Opera through October 27. It comes down on Thursday, October 28.

Artist Talk October 14

Have you wondered how an artist comes to have her first solo exhibition when she’s 75?  I will try to answer that question of me and my choices as I journey into the simplicity of old age in an artist talk on October 14 from 1:30 to 3 pm in the Mirella Cimato Gallery. I will converse about how I learned my art, my photography work process, the concept behind Breath Taking: Sheltering In Our Garden and forces that influence me. The discussion will take place in the Mirella Cimato Gallery from 1:30 - 3pm. I’d love to have you join me.
