Matins Is Recognized

Wining honorable mention in a juried exhibition at the PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, my image, Matins is on exhibit September 6 - September 27, 2024. You can see the excellent exhibition, juried by Wendi Schneider online as well as in the gallery.

History’s Brush

I spent some time thinking about Juneteenth and the long struggle to have the important day recognized. We struggle now to keep it from being erased as it could be in the 2024 elections. Floridians know what erasing Black history looks like. This is my image I call  History’s Brush.  As the father of Black history, Carter G. Woodson said, “If a race has no history … it stands in danger of being exterminated.”

I’m happy to say that the image is one of three dozen reflecting on roots and identity in a thought provoking virtual exhibition at the link. Roots and Reflections: Abstract Explorations Of Identity from 2nd July - 29th September, 2024.

Bog Ballet

“Bog Ballet” an impressionist image of the cranberry harvest in Pocasset has been juried into the 2024 Summer National Exhibition at the Cape Cod Art Center. I’m thrilled that my Cape Cod neighbors will have a chance to see it in the gallery from July 12 to August 12, 2024.
