It’s a wrap!

The exhibition came to a close today. We packed up the sold pieces for collectors to take home and enjoy.  Those pieces that were admired but not chosen will rest a while awaiting another opportunity to shine incandescently on those who take the time to visit and receive their gifts. So many old and new friends took the time to share their reactions to the show with me. One of my favorite comments was this:

Donna Oglesby says “A garden is an emotional blessing.’ I second the statement…or should I say ‘Amen’? Today I visited her beautiful show at Mirella’s Gallery and I was transported. The show is so accurately named  “Breath Taking.”  I am not familiar with the photographic techniques Donna has mastered but they give a spiritual aura to each work.

To all who came, my sincere thanks for taking the journey with me.

Photobook Exhibit!

My book has been selected for inclusion in the 12th Annual Photobook Show presented by the Davis Orton Gallery, Hudson NY and the Griffin Museum of Photography, Winchester MA. The show consists of an exhibition at Davis Orton Gallery, Hudson NY, November  20, 2021 to December 19, 2021;   and an exhibition at the Griffin Museum of Photography January 6, 2022 to February 27, 2022 with an artist reception January 13, 7 to 8:30pm.

Zen Photography

Photography can be a Zen art much like Ikebana, haiku or sumi-e.  It is about being present to the material in front of you. Receiving it and working with its quintessential characteristics. All are minimalist attempts to render the ineffable, the transitory, the imperfect. On Thursday, October 20, 2021 at 1:30 I invite you to join me in the Mirella Cimato Gallery in the St. Petersburg Opera to explore my visual and verbal haiku.
